A Modest Proposal--On Religion

An Even More Modest Proposal than Jonathan Swift's

Dear Gentlemen,
It would seem that the world has been in utter turmoil in the past few centuries, and even moreso within this very decade in our young millenia, in which religion has been the impetus for mass violence and warfare. The reach of these religions--in particular, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism--now spans the globe, as do the other, somewhat less-prominent religions that have spread like plague throughout the world. So much hath been brought about the world in response to these conflicting views--the Crusades, the Holocaust, the tragic events of 9/11--and others. Not even the somewhat minor faiths have been all that peaceful--Ghandi was murdered by a Hindu extremist. In response to this, I have spent several long hours pondering the subject, and have come to find a solution, which I find to be a most agreeable and overall, positive answer to these acts of violence.
It is my strong belief that religion, in any way, shape, or form, should be eradicated from the face of the earth, so as to stop such tragedies from occuring once more.
Atheism, and atheism alone, is the answer to this problem. Atheists don't murder people...they don't lie, they don't cheat, they don't steal, they don't spread such mania and religious fanatascism as religion-followers do. Atheism is the answer. Though it may take a long struggle, I believe that radical religious believers can be toppled over time, when their leaders are executed in the most graphic ways possible, their holy books obliterated, their holy churches, shrines, and temples ruined, and their histories...modified. Then, and only then, can our little planet achieve true peace...and accept the aliens when they finally grace our planet with your presence. And yes...I do believe aliens put us here...
